The gambler’s hat-trick: The three most important things to remember

You’re never going to be successful if you don’t take full and complete advantage of whatever knowledge you have. This includes everything! It’s not enough to know about the game itself. You need to understand everything that goes into making this an industry. Beyond understanding the sports themselves you’ll want to what exactly what the betting industry entails. That’s one of the most fundamental laws of the gambler. You mustn’t however neglect other factors too. Personal matters, for example, like a player having family issues or moving to a new country can also play into how well an athlete might perform. They are, after all, human, and affected professional by their personal lives in the same way that most of us are. And you’ll want to factor in any information you might have about the temperature in the venue where your team is playing It’s this kind of knowledge that makes all the difference when it comes down to it at the end of the day. Remember to consider information about the venue, about the weather, and any changes in equipment and also the rumours that might be buzzing about. This is what ultimately makes a great gambler out of a decent one.

One of the other factors, just as critical as a knowledge of the sports you’re betting on is, having a working understanding of the gaming industry. Before placing those bets, it’s a very good idea to understand about how the betting industry works—or even something more specific like your favourite casino or a beloved online gambling platform. These companies are there to make money and although there are big profits to make for the gambler, these places would not be in business if they weren’t able to make profits themselves. Understanding how odds and handicapping are made can make a huge difference. You may end up learning something about the industry of gambling that will make you place a bet you never thought you would make or to stop placing a certain type of bet that used to be your tried and true method. Honestly, companies are there because they want to make a profit and the odds are undoubtedly in their favour. You have a chance of earning money, but you need to be shrewd with your bets and understanding the industry can help tremendously.
If you’re trying to make money you’re going to have to bet like the iceman. If you’re gambling in order to pay the bills, don’t! It’s not uncommon for the gambler to go double or quits on increasingly risky matches or games in the hopes of recouping one’s losses. These massive payoffs happen, but they are uncommon. I your bet is making your heart race then there’s a chance that it was too big a bet. (Here’s also where having a budget can be a helpful tool in the gambler’s arsenal.) It’s best to be calm and collected when you’re splashing about money. A good mood had the potential to  influence how much you’re betting and on what you’re betting on just as much as being drunk, so you’ll also want to be aware of your own state too.  It is in your best interest to be emotional in a stable place when you’re betting.

New York Jets vs Indianapolis Colts NFL Pick

The Indianapolis Colts (0-1) host the New York Jets (1-0) at Lucas Oil Stadium this week. The game will begin Monday, Sep 21 at 8:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN.

Indianapolis dropped one to Buffalo 27-14 last week. T.Y. Hilton had a good game in the loss, totaling seven catches for 88 yards. New York is hoping for a similar result as last week when they crushed Cleveland 31-10. Chris Ivory had a big game on the ground for the Jets, gaining 91 yards and two TDs on 20 carries. Brandon Marshall added 62 yards on six receptions.

Indianapolis is a considerable seven-point favorite in this game and the Over/Under (O/U) is 47 points.

Heading into Week 2 of league action, the Colts are winless with a 0-1 record Straight Up (SU) and Against The Spread (ATS). The Colts utilize their passing game frequently, throwing 49 times per game, which is the second-most in the NFL. Transitioning to the Indianapolis defense, there some factors that could impact the outcome. The Colts have the fifth-best pass defense in the NFL and give up 195 yards per game through the air.

In comparison to the Colts, the Jets are off to a fast start with a 1-0 record SU and ATS so far this season. They are the fourth-ranked scoring offense in the league, averaging 31.0 points per game. New York has found a lot of success on the ground. Its 154 rushing yards per game ranks third in the NFL. The Jets have a top-five defense that gives up 10.0 points per game. New York’s defense ranks in the top half of the league for rushing yards allowed and could have the upper hand this week against the 29th-ranked rushing attack of the Colts, which averages 64 yards on the ground per game. The Colts might be concerned with the turnover-forcing abilities of the New York defense which leads the league with five turnovers per game. The Jets increase their scoring output in the second quarter, when they average 14 points, the highest average in the league this year.

Predictions: SU Winner – NYJ, ATS Winner – NYJ, O/U – Under

The total has gone OVER in 4 of Indianapolis’s last 5 games when playing at home against NY Jets.

New York is 1-0 SU when leading at halftime this season.

The Indianapolis passing attack is ranked only 16th in the league, while the New York pass defense is ranked 14th. The Jets’ passing game is ranked just 30th, compared to the fifth-ranked pass defense of the Colts.

2015 NFC North Odds and Predictions

NFC North NFL Picks

The Green Bay Packers are big NFL Pick favorites in 2015 to win the NFC North for the fifth straight season.  The Packers boast one of the best offenses in the NFL led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers but that offense did take a hit in the preseason when wide receiver Jordy Nelson suffered a season-ending knee injury.  The Minnesota Vikings get Adrian Peterson back this season and they are the co-second choice to win the division this season along with the Detroit Lions while the Chicago Bears are the longshot.  Let’s look at all four teams, 2015 NFC North odds and NFC North predictions.

Free NFL Pick Odds to Win NFC North

Green Bay Packers -325

Minnesota Vikings 5-1

Detroit Lions 5-1

Chicago Bears 21-1

Green Bay Packers

The Packers have a potent offense led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers but they are likely to take a step back this season without the injured Jordy Nelson.  The team still has Randall Cobb but they will need Davante Adams to step up and for someone else to take over the third receiver role so they will be hoping that Ty Montgomery or Jeff Janis is up to the task. The defense for Green Bay is solid led by Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers but there are concerns in the secondary as gone are Tramon Williams and Davon House.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings are the hot pick to challenge Green Bay in the NFC North this season. They have a good young quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater, the best running back in football returning in Adrian Peterson and an aggressive defense under head coach Mike Zimmer. The offense also added Mike Wallace who should give Bridgewater a deep threat and the defense could be improved with the addition of Trae Waynes, Erick Kendricks and Dan Hunter.

Chicago Bears

The Bears have a new head coach in John Fox and new coordinators.  Much of the spotlight will be on offensive coordinator Adam Gase and how he handles quarterback Jay Cutler.  Gase features an offense that is pass heavy so Cutler will get a lot of work throwing to wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and running back Matt Forte.  The bigger problem for the Bears is a defense that simply isn’t any good. They didn’t do much in the off-season to improve the defense so to win games they are going to have to win shootouts.

Detroit Lions

The Lions still have Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson but the offense with those two still isn’t anything special.  Stafford has yet to show he is a marquee quarterback and Johnson is starting to show his age. Detroit is hoping that rookie running back Ameer Abdullah provides a spark. The defense figures to take step back without Ndamukong Suh who is now in Miami.

2015 Regular Season Win Totals

Detroit Lions 8.5 under -145

Minnesota Vikings 7.5 over -200

Chicago Bears 7 under -200

10,000 metres, 110 metres hurdles, 400 metres hurdles, 3000 metres steeplechase, 4×100 metres relay, Marathon, 20 kilometres walk, 50 kilometres walk

Basketball has become a big event in terms of Summer Olympics betting ever since the “Dream Team” took the court in 1992. The United States has dominated the Olympics but shockers have happened in the past as Argentina took the gold in 2004.  That loss seemed to be a wakeup call for the U.S. as they have completely obliterated the competition ever since.  Basketball betting lines for the 2016 Summer Olympics will be on the board at the online sportsbook with future odds and individual games odds with sides and totals.

Golf will be held at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio and odds will be on the board at BetDSI sportsbook.   It will be the first time golf has been an Olympic event since 1904.  The action will take place in the Rerserva de Marapendi in the Barra da Tijuca zone. There will be a men’s and women’s tournament.  The players will play a 72-hole individual stroke play tournament. The action is set for August 11th-14th and August 17th-20th.  Qualification will be based on the world rankings as of July 11th, 2016.  There will be a total of 60 players who quality in each of the men’s and women’s events.  Golf betting odds will be available on the Olympics just as they would for a normal PGA or European Tour event.  Odds will range from 5-1 or 6-1 on the favorites to 100-1 or more on the longshots.

One of the sports that used to get a great deal of interest in the Olympics was boxing and it is still an Olympic sport.  Because boxing does not get the type of interest overall it doesn’t attract as much action in terms of betting but that is not all bad because there is a lot more value on the board at the sportsbook on many boxers that are not well known.  Boxing betting odds will be available at the sportsbook for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
